Hi, I’m Ryan

As a kid I have fond memories of my parents taking me to the river. We would hike our way through the woods until wading into the river to play in the water. I would fish up and down the river catching whatever would bite! As I got older I was able to fish deeper and swifter sections of the river. This is where my passion for smallmouth bass, and bass fishing in general, started. My Saturday tv viewing was filled with Ninja Turtle cartoons, Bill Dance Fishing, and BASS Master tournaments. My parents bought subscriptions for Bassmaster Magazine and INfisherman that I would read front to back over and over! At 10 years old my friends and family started asking me what I was going to us when we went fishing. I would go camping and always seemed to catch fish when others were struggling. I was getting better and fishing had become my obsession.

As life would have it, I took a break from fishing for awhile until jumping back in 2019. In 2020 I started posting my passion on Instagram. When choosing a name for my page I decided on Lovethecast. At the heart of my love fishing is that moment when you cast a line and nothing else matters except for catching a fish. I  found a fair following on social media that led to many connections within the fishing community. I began to wonder if there was a way to turn this hobby into a job. I signed up for a small business entrepreneur class held through our local chamber of commerce and I was awarded some grant money to get started and Lovethecast LLC was born!

At this point in my life I have an amazing and supportive wife and three kids. I always tried to take my kids fishing over the years so they could experience the joy of it and the wonders of the outdoors. This is what I strive to pass on through my guide business. I want to help kids build a foundational passion for angling! I want to give families the ability to take their family fishing with less stress of what to buy and where to go. Experienced anglers can enjoy a break from the stress of deciding what to do and concentrate on the experience. In all these scenarios, teaching is always at the heart of all trips. I want to make sure that new and experienced anglers alike come away a new found confidence and love for fishing!

At the end of the day I want people to know that “Wherever you are, Whatever you catch, Love the cast”!
